Deciding the Translation, Busy time, and the Beginning of 7th Semester!

Hi guys, it's been a long time since my last posting. I really sorry for not post anything on the last recent months since my schedule was very busy enough. Well, how are you guys? I hope that you are all well. You guys maybe think what I'm doing in the last recent months or what are the activities that bring me to the busy time, right? Well, it is because at the last recent months, I was in 6th semester. Yes, it is the beginning of the las semester of campus life for me. In Indonesia, when we are in the 6th semester, people will call it someday as a "Senior". It is not an ordinary senior just like when you have your junior, no.. It's about you are almost ended up your campus life. So, before I tell you about this 7th semester that I now reach, let's tell the story about the last 6th semester, shall we?

In the 6th semester, my department which is English Language and Culture of Bunda Mulia Universirty, will separate the students into 2 majority. The majorities are Translation and Teaching. We just only have 2 majorities for this department nowadays. Me, personally, hope that later on there will be another majorities such as Literature or Linguistics if possible because it seems that there are several students that like with those 2 other majorities. So, what is my majority? Well, I'm taking Translation.  Why I take translation rather than teaching? Because I like translating something, and also learn another languages beside English. I'm not taking teaching because for me, teaching someone i hard, especially when you teach and it is wrong, you will wasted and it is dangerous. So, what is the subjects in Translation majority? There are 2 main subjects in this majority, one is Literary and Popular Translation, and the other one Movie Translation. Literary Translation is about translatin the texts such as from comics, novel, etc, while Movie Translation is about translating the movie, subtitiling, and dubbing. From those 2 subjects, I like Movie Translation rather than Literary Translation hahaha. It's because in Movie Translation, not only subtitling but also I can watch the movie itself (refreshing while doing the subject). Oh, by the way, we had an final project from those 2 subjects and it is translating the books and subtitling the movie. For the final projects, I choose translating the "Beowulf" for Literary and "Furious 7" for Movie. Well, it is the projects that push me to have a lot of time to do that. But, the result is quite good for me. It is ebcause the main important for me is can passes those subjects or all subjects on those semester. Well, that is about the majority that I choose. So, what about the competition? Did I join the compeition on the 6th semester just like the other semesters before? Well, I just only joined 1 asian competition which is AEO (Asian English Olympics) held by Bina Nusantara University and I joined up for short story competition and 1 inter competition when Social Science Week held by my campus. Why I just only join for 1 asian competition? Well, because I saw the busy schedule and the assignments that considered me to just join in only one competition. The other aspect is since because on the 6th semester, I appointed as the Head of the Competition Division for ACES, so my job is decide the competition and the students who wants to joined up the competition with lecturers, and settle up the payment, etc for my department to joining the competition. But, for me that's okay because I can won the inter competition held by my campus and my department. I won the 1st rank for Battle of Brain competition with my team, Ramon Adianto (6th semester) and Vesalia (4th semester). The other thing that make me proud is I can brought 2 trophies for my department under my division that I lead. So, I'm not really disspaointed at ala because I can still myself andmake my department proud because we can won the competition itself.

That is about my activity in the last 6th semester, so how about this 7th semester? Well, it is more busy for me. I have to think more about one subject, Seminar on Research which is one step before the thesis on 8th semester later on. In this semester, the Translation subject that I got are Computer Assisted Translation and Introduction Interpreting. From now, I have to think what subject that I do later on my thesis. In this beginning of the 7th semester also makes me and my friends to have discussion more than the latest semester. All we do just talking about the topics, topics, and topics... But, anyway, that is the consequemce being the student in 7th semester. The time full of busy thing, always think about the topic, meeting with a lecturer about the topic and also for the assignment. Hope that me and my friends can pass this 7th semester well and can bring a positive thing for us to reach the thesis on the 8th semester.

Decision of The Subject

Hi guys! It's been a long month after I post something in this blog. Well, sorry for this very late post because the assignments is more insane at this time. Assignments are coming day by day and we suffer the fast time to make the assignments ready for collect to the teachers. By the way, are you feel the feelings just like I do? Let's say pressure, tired, or anything beacuse the subjects or tasks in your place? Well, I hope that we can suffer from the time that make us feel tired or anything kinda like that and passed all the things that we've already made with a best result.

Anyway, I've been applied my KRS ( in Bahasa is Kartu Rencana Studi). KRS is a thing or a list for next semester for us about what subjects that we will take. It seems that  it is just like a plan list of the subjcects. Let's talk about this one first before we talk about the major that I've been took for the next semester. There are 12 packet of KRS that campus are offer for us. So, we can choose which one that we will take for the next semester. There are different between the 20 KRS and 22 KRS, although the different is just the one subject. So it means that if you choose the 22 KRS, it just add the extra subject for you in the next semseter. I've been excited to apply the KRS itself. So, after I see all the packet of the KRS, I choose the KRS that contain  of the translation and Literature subjects.

Ohh by the way, in this packets of KRS. There are only 2 subjects that we can choose with the 2 additionals subjects. The main subjects are Translation and Teaching, and for the additionals subjects are Literature and Linguistics. Well honestly, I will choose Literature as the main subject and the additional one is Translation, but it is too bad that Literature is not the main subject. So, well I choose a packet of KRS that contains the subject of Translation and Literature. That packet that I've been choose also have an interesting subject for me. The subject is English for Journalist. I'm exicted too be a journalist, beacuse it seems that interesting if you can go somewhere and find the story and publicate it and you spread the knowledge, story or ideas for the peoples. So, after a thinking a little while to choose the packet of the KRS, then I choose that one that contains of Translation and Literature, and I hope that I can passed it and it is the best decision for me for the next semester.

Okay then, that is the short story for the decision of the subject for the next semester that I've been choose and apply it. Hope it is the best decision for me and also it is the best subjects or major for me then. Keep up the good work fellas! Stay healthy and shared a smile to the world! Dag! :)
