Red Rose
By : Robert Burns
O my Luve is like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve is like the melody
That’s sweetly played in tune.
So fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.
After you see the poem above, you can see that this poem is using an old English. This poem is express someones feeling so deeply and express of miss or love someone wholeheartly. We can learn or see from this poem that we must love the person that we love seriously, even it is separated by distance for a thousand mile. I hope you got the lessons from this poem that it is useful for you later on. So, I think that's all for today. Goeden avond, my dear fellow reader.
Guten Morgen Christopher. Haha so at last I can leave some comments on your blog :p Hmm this is a very classic poem indeed. Nobody uses "thou" anymore hahaha. Although it does sound more romantic I guess. Maybe you should try writing your own poems next time. I'll be sure to follow your blog :) until next time ...
